AEP Texas employees partnered with Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District's Dual Language Campus to participate in Career Day. About 500 students visited with crews at the company's table to talk about electrical safety and career awareness.
Students participated in hands-on activities, including AEP Texas' Power Town demonstration, which illustrates the flow of electricity through a community. Employees also spoke with students about career opportunities in the energy industry and shared safety tips for recognizing and avoiding electrical hazards at home and in their neighborhoods.
"The event is part of AEP Texas' ongoing community outreach efforts to educate young people about energy safety while inspiring interest in careers that help power Texas communities," External Affairs Manager Jimmy Earnest said.
