Weather permitting, AEP Texas will temporarily deenergize the North Padre Island substation beginning at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, to make needed repairs safely to some substation equipment.

Approximately 50 line and service crews continued rebuilding infrastructure and restoring power early Saturday to residents in Alice after storms destroyed pieces of the area’s electric grid.
Crews have restored electric service to nearly all impacted customers who are able to take power to their premise after a thunderstorm with heavy rains and reported 90 mile per hour winds destroyed some electrical infrastructure in Alice late Thursday. At 7 p.m. Saturday, approximately 100 customers remain without power.
