An AEP Texas employee fired up his smoker to help members of the Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals (WiNUP) raise funds for student scholarships. Employees who are also members of the Corpus Christi WiNUP chapter presold plates that included a pulled pork sandwich, chips, a drink, and all the fixings.
WiNUP volunteered to smoke 14 pork butts for the fundraiser, a gesture that meant a great deal to the group. AEP Texas employees and community members purchased plates, raising $2,358 to support scholarships for local students in 2027. Corpus Christi Chapter Chair Patricia Morales said the group truly appreciated everyone’s participation.
“The support from our employees and community enables us to give back through scholarships and invest in future generations. It’s both rewarding and a reminder of how much we can accomplish together,” Morales said.
