AEP Texas distribution employees in Abilene volunteered to help the Cancer Services Network with set-up for its annual Fashions for the Cure event, which raises funds to support local cancer patients. Over 40 employees worked together to unload a truck filled with event supplies, cover tables, tie pink bow on chairs, set plated tables, and prepare auction displays.
"What typically takes organizers eight hours to complete was finished in just 45 minutes thanks to the coordinated efforts of the AEP Texas team," said Luke Roberson, External Affairs manager.
Proceeds from the Fashions for the Cure help cancer patients in the region pay for essential needs such as prescriptions, medical supplies, and utility bills.By lending their hands, the Abilene distribution employees helped create a welcoming and elegant space to ensure the organization could focus on what really mattered, which was raising hope and support for those facing cancer.
