CORPUS CHRISTI (June 16, 2023) – AEP Texas has deployed over 100 full-time employees and over 200 contract employees to Louisiana to assist with the Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) storm response effort. Hurricane force winds slammed into the area early Friday. AEP Texas and SWEPCO are part of American Electric Power Corporation.
AEP Texas workers will assist in the following restoration activities:
- Distribution line work
- Distribution Service work
- Circuit coordination
- Forestry
- Damage Assessment
- Fleet Support
- Safety Support
Resources are traveling from across the entire AEP Texas service territory. Crews are expected to arrive Friday night.
