AEP Texas presented Brooks County ISD in Falfurrias with an incentive check for $50, 967.21 following a series of energy-efficient LED lighting upgrades completed across several district campuses.
The districts LED retrofit project was completed through AEP Texas' Commercial Standard Offer Program, which helps schools and businesses lower energy use and reduce long-term operation costs. The upgrades were installed at Falfurrias High School, Falfurrias Junior High, Falfurrias Elementary, and Lasater Elementary.
External Affairs Manager Danny Treviño says the new energy-efficient lighting will help the district save energy, reduce maintenance expenses and enhance learning environments for students.Treviño was accompanied by Energy Efficiency Manager Robert Cavazos and Energy Efficiency Program Coordinator Jacob Dutton.
“The school district seized a valuable opportunity to upgrade its lighting system throughout the high school," Cavazos said. "Supported by AEP Texas Energy Efficiency incentives, this project will create a brighter learning environment for students while significantly reducing energy consumption.”
