Chad Burnett was named vice president of Regulatory and Finance, effective December 10, 2022.
Burnett is responsible for the regulatory direction of AEP Texas, as well as the review, reporting and analysis of operating company financial results and coordination of short- and long-term financial plans, including helping prioritize operation and maintenance, and capital expenditures for AEP Texas consistent with AEP strategy.
Previously, he was AEP managing director of Economic and Supply Forecasting based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a position he had held since 2021. Before moving that position, he served as director of Economic Forecasting where he was responsible for the development of short- and long-term sales, customer, demand, and revenue forecasts, including budgeting for all AEP utilities.
Burnett has extensive regulatory experience and has provided expert testimony on behalf of AEP operating companies to numerous public utility commissions, which include Arkansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Indiana, Virginia, and Texas. He has testified in numerous base rate cases, fuel filings, integrated resource plan filings, and energy efficiency filings.
He has a bachelor's degree in finance and economics and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Tulsa. He is a graduate of AEP's Targeted Development Program as well as the Ohio State University Strategic Leadership Program and is an adjunct professor at the school of business for Southern Nazarene University in Tulsa.
