AEP Texas employees and community members came together at the Pharr Service Center for a Vitalant blood drive on Wednesday, July 29, collecting 27 units of blood and surpassing the goal of 21 units by six.
More than 20 donors attended the event, which included snacks and complimentary T-shirts for participants. Organizers said the donation effort could help save up to 108 lives.
“With the recent flooding and San Antonio rains, I think it’s important to have everybody donate for whatever cause,” AEP Texas External Affairs Manager Daniel Lucio said.
