AEP Texas employees celebrated Cinco de Mayo with music, culture and community during a special event hosted by the HOLA ERG in the Rio Grande Valley at the Pharr Service Center. Approximately 100 employees attended the celebration, which featured appearances by Tejano music star Bobby Pulido and McAllen attorney and mayoral candidate Omar Ochoa.
During the program, Pulido shared personal stories about his upbringing and career path, reflecting on how he originally envisioned becoming an attorney before pursuing music professionally. Pointing to Ochoa during his remarks, Pulido joked that he once hoped to follow a similar path but instead built a successful career in the music industry before eventually returning to his interest in public service and politics.
HOLA organized the event as part of its ongoing efforts to celebrate Hispanic heritage and create opportunities for employees to connect through culture, community and shared experiences.
