On February 4 External Affairs Manager Daniel Lucio presented a check for $5,000 to fund Teach For America (TFA) Rio Grande Valley. The fund will help advance the organization’s work to expand educational opportunity and develop strong leaders by recruiting, training, and supporting highly effective teachers across the RGV.
This school year, TFA will place more than 65 educators, alongside a network of over 240 alumni.
“This investment is vital to our work to expand access to high-quality education across the Rio Grande Valley, especially for students who face the most significant obstacles,” Executive Director of Teach For America Rio Grande Valley said. “Education is a powerful driver of economic opportunity, and support from partners like the American Electric Power Foundation allows us to cultivate and sustain strong leaders in our classrooms and communities. At the same time, we are helping create career pathways that promote family stability and strengthen the region’s future.”
“This investment reflects our commitment to ensure every child in the Valley has access to a high-quality education," Corporate Communications Manager Cleiri Quezada said.
