AEP Texas employees Rita Cardenas and Fred Guerrero participated in United Way's "United We Read" event by visiting a local elementary school and spending time with a group of second-grade students.
During the visit, the volunteers read Superbuns aloud to the class and brought the story to life. After the reading, students decorated shields featuring their favorite things. The colorful artwork of family members, superheroes, and even a Labubu's, gave everyone a glimpse into the creativity and imagination of the children.
"The interaction showed the importance of connection and encouragement at an early age," AEP Texas External Affairs Manager Fred Guerrero said.
"United We Read" is one of the many ways United Way of the Concho Valley inspires love of reading. At the end of the day, students received a copy of Superbuns, to make sure they continued reading after class.
