AEP Texas donated $5,000 to Westside Helping Hands to help expand services for low-income youth and families in Corpus Christi.
The check was presented by AEP Texas Regional External Affairs Manager Gricelda Calzada to Westside Helping Hands on December 15. The donation will help support the organization's free after-school care for pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade students, homework assistance, tutoring, and summer programs.
Calzada said AEP Texas works closely with community leaders across its service area to identify opportunities to invest in programs that help families, promote education, and improve quality of life.
